John Fancher - Copywriter

The first piece John wrote for me was a winner…I barely touched it…and I’m ruthless when it comes to writing copy. High five for John! He gets results!

– Perry Marshall, President, Perry Marshall & Associates

You can probably stop reading right now.

If Perry's recommendation doesn't convince you, we're probably not going to be a good fit.

But…on the far-fetched chance that you're doing business on the internet and you do not know who Perry Marshall is, let me ask you a few more questions to see if we should do business together.

Question 1:
When you partner with someone, are you looking for someone to complete a task, or are you looking for a trusted consultant and advisor?
It's OK if you just need piece work and don't want to bother with advice or consultation, but it's not the way I work.

Developing webpage copy, gathering and crafting testimonials, writing auto-responder emails, or setting up Google Adwords campaigns…you name it, John has done it for us…and he goes beyond the call by being a trusted source for marketing advice.

– Greg Pretsch, President, SteelGuard Safety

Question 2:
Do you hire on a piece-by-piece basis or do you look for long-term partnerships?
Again, I understand that some business people like to bid out every single job, but I prefer to begin with the assumption that this will be a long-term, mutually beneficial relationship...that a webpage edit will lead to a direct mail sales letter…or an autoresponder email campaign…or an Adwords ad writing project. I assume that we will do lots of business together…therefore I approach EVERY task with that mindset…that means I do WAY more research and get to know your business WAY better than someone who is expecting to do only one writing job and never hear from you again.

John is great. He actually came to our offices, attended one of our monthly meetings and took notes in order to get to know our organization before he crafted our campaign. With dedication like that, it’s no surprise we’re getting results.

– Angie Weszely, President, Caris

One complaint I hear about other copywriters is that – because they bill by the hour - they eventually get to the point on a project where the billable hours have run out…so they stop working…regardless of whether the quality and results are there to the client's satisfaction. "She was so gung-ho and easy to work with at the beginning…and then something happened…she takes forever to return my emails now!"

Question 3:
Do you intend to track the results of the writing job?
Do you have a process in place for tracking the results…do you have quantified goals in mind for this project? I prefer to have quantifiable expectations set up front. I want to be able to say, "this project was a success and here's the proof"…I like to have the expectations on the table before we begin to do business together. Another complaint I hear a lot about copywriters is "He was more concerned with how pretty his words sounded than he was with getting results for my business"

We needed results fast in order to get our start-up off the ground and John’s landing page gave us exactly what we needed. 15-20% of the visitors to the page signed up for our program. A real home run!

– Thomas Morrow, CEO, HomeSchool Inc.

Can you hear me now?

Some final questions…these may seem basic, but I've done business with entrepreneurs who could not answer these basic questions and the "partnership" was not worth their time or mine....

Do you …

It's OK if you can't articulate these clearly…that's what I'm here for…but if you know what they are, we're off on the right foot…

You made it.

Congratulations.
